Our mission is to help the Haitian people to rebuild their economy, society, and their lives so that they will live free of poverty. We use microcredit lending as a means for the elimination of poverty. We help to build the capacities of women who live in Port au Prince by giving them small loans accompanied with business and savings education and assist each woman to develop a business and savings plan. The loans are given to co-operative banking groups of 20 women. These co-operative banking groups support each other, solve problems together and will keep each other accountable to pay back their loans. The women all open savings accounts, accumulate interest from their savings and save money for unexpected emergencies and future goals. In Haiti, most women have no credit or collateral and have no opportunity to receive business loans so that they may be able to have a store, buy their materials in bulk, or hire workers. These microcredit loans give the women a chance to empower themselves, care for their families, and to live free of abject poverty.
